Our Story
Maison de la Folie
Maison de la Folie, founded by Audrey Heselmans — a creative director, stylist and scenographer whose work moves fluidly between the worlds of fashion, interiors, art and collectible design.
Long active within the sphere of high-end luxury fashion & beauty, Audrey built an international career collaborating with some of the world’s most exclusive brands. Her work brought her across the globe, living for many years in cities such as Paris, London and Tokyo, while countless projects unfolded within extraordinary settings and inspiring landscapes along the way. These years of travel and immersion in different cultures became an inexhaustible source of inspiration that continues to shape the Maison de la Folie universe to this day.

Her artistic sensibility was equally nurtured from an early age. Raised in a family where art played a central role — her father being a passionate art collector — Audrey developed a deep appreciation for eclectic aesthetics, layered interiors and objects imbued with character and history. She graduated from Sint Lucas Antwerp and also studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, experiences that further refined her visual language and intuitive sense of composition.
Over time, collecting singular and beautiful pieces became far more than a passion; it evolved into a way of living, and ultimately led to the creation of Maison de la Folie.
More than a gallery or a collection, Maison de la Folie is a highly personal world — one where art, vintage furniture, lighting, jewellery, textiles and rare curiosities coexist within immersive and carefully composed scenographies. Each exhibition is conceived as an atmosphere to wander through slowly: layered, expressive and deeply evocative. Every room invites visitors into a different mood, where colour, texture and emotion guide the experience as much as the objects themselves.

Maison de la Folie stands for a playful elegance — a balance between refinement and curiosity, between timeless pieces and unexpected discoveries. Throughout the years, Audrey has sourced exceptional furniture, fabrics and collectible objects from all over the world, and to this day she continues to source singular finds imbued with character, history & atmosphere, each carrying its own story and sense of place, waiting to begin a new chapter elsewhere.
Alongside the exhibitions, the online gallery remains active as a destination for whimsical and unique objects sourced internationally and available to ship worldwide.

Beyond Maison de la Folie itself, Audrey also works through the Maison de la Folie studio as an interior and art consultant, offering services in object and art curation, scenography, sourcing, content creation and creative direction. She regularly sources exceptional furniture and collectible objects internationally for architects and interior architects, always guided by a distinctive eye for rarity, atmosphere and soul.
Above all, Maison de la Folie is intended to feel welcoming — like entering a home filled with stories, discoveries and objects of desire. A place to linger, to explore slowly, and perhaps to find a piece that continues its journey with you.
So please, come in, take your time, and make yourself at home.
